The Historiques 222 in 18ct yellow gold is a modern revival of one of Vacheron Constantin’s most important sports watches. Originally designed by Jörg Hysek in 1977 to mark the maison’s 222nd anniversary, the model represents a pivotal moment in the rise of the integrated-bracelet luxury sports watch.
Powered by the in-house, self-winding Calibre 2455/2 — bearing the Hallmark of Geneva — it drives the 37mm “Jumbo” case and features a dedicated oscillating weight engraved with the original 222 logo. At just 7.95mm thick, crafted entirely in yellow gold and paired with a fully integrated bracelet, it remains as discreet and considered today as it was at launch. Its reintroduction has been met with sustained global demand and extended waitlists — a result that will come as no surprise to those familiar with its significance.
