Historiques 222 Vintage

The original 222 is one of the most collectible vintage sports watches from Vacheron Constantin — and one of the most historically significant. Designed by Jörg Hysek and launched in 1977 to mark the manufacture's 222nd anniversary, it was Vacheron's answer to the Royal Oak and Nautilus, sharing the same JLC Calibre 920-derived movement that powered all three. The 37mm Jumbo references were produced in the smallest numbers and are considerably rarer than their mid-size counterparts. Produced in limited quantities before the line evolved into the Overseas, the 222 remained largely overlooked for decades — until the modern re-edition reminded the market exactly what it had been sleeping on. Vintage examples have been climbing steadily ever since.
